The First Degree Vortex VX-3 Commercial Rower has a patented Fluid Technology variable resistance system that makes ingenious use of a twin-chamber tank.
Water can be transferred to and from the two chambers by means of a lever or dial operation. Water in the outer chamber provides resistance to paddles when rotated by the pulling force of the user. Any water in the inner chamber “passive” chamber does not provide resistance. Thus the resistance can be varied through the water level in the outer tank and the effort of the user.
NOTE: The complete system holds 8 litres (= 8kg) of water.
Interactive Performance Monitor: The First Degree Vortex VX-3 Commercial Rower utilizes our new Interactive Performance Monitor. The Interactive Performance Monitor (IPM) displays: time; speed; distance; revolutions per minute; calories per hour; watts; level and has a heart rate receiver built in. The IPM gives you quick start, manual programs, interval training, 6 previous workout memories and a unique pacer system guaranteed to challenge and inspire you.
Two chambers are contained within on tank. The inner (passive) chambers store water. Resistance is created by impeller bladed churning water in the outer (active chamber). Moving the level indicator varies the level of water in each chamber. Moving resistance occurs when the greatest volume of water is in the outer (active) chamber.
