Why Choose the Star Trac 6CT Cross Trainer?
Commercial-Grade Elliptical for High-Use Facilities
The Star Trac 6CT is designed for commercial fitness environments where durability, smooth performance, and ease of use are important. Its heavy-duty frame and commercial components make it suitable for facilities with multiple users throughout the day.
Full-Body Cardiovascular Exercise
Unlike cardio machines that primarily train the lower body, the 6CT includes articulating movement arms that allow users to push and pull while exercising. This creates greater upper-body involvement while the legs perform the elliptical stride.
Smooth, Low-Impact Cardio
The elliptical movement keeps the user's feet supported by the pedals throughout the exercise cycle, helping reduce the repetitive impact typically associated with running. This makes the 6CT a strong option for users who want cardiovascular exercise with a smoother movement pattern.
20 Levels of Adjustable Resistance
With 20 resistance levels, users can easily modify workout intensity based on their fitness level or training goal. Lower resistance can be used for warm-ups and recovery sessions, while higher resistance can increase the challenge during endurance and interval workouts.
Consistent 20-Inch Stride
The fixed 20-inch stride length provides a repeatable elliptical movement designed to accommodate a broad range of users in commercial fitness environments.
Multiple Apex Console Choices
Facilities can configure the Star Trac 6CT with an Apex LCD+, Apex LED, or 16-inch touchscreen console, making it easier to match equipment technology to the needs and budget of the facility.
Connected Cardio Experience
Depending on the selected Apex console, users can access features such as Bluetooth connectivity, Wi-Fi, workout tracking, entertainment, wireless charging, and connected fitness functionality.
What Muscles Does the Star Trac 6CT Work?
The Star Trac 6CT provides a full-body elliptical workout by combining lower-body pedaling with articulating upper-body movement arms.
Lower-Body Muscles
Quadriceps help extend the knees and drive the pedals through the elliptical motion.
Hamstrings assist with knee flexion and hip extension throughout the stride.
Glutes contribute to hip extension and lower-body power.
Calves help control ankle movement and provide stabilization during exercise.
Upper-Body Muscles
Shoulders are engaged as the movement arms travel forward and backward.
Biceps contribute during the pulling phase of the handles.
Triceps assist during the pushing phase.
Chest and upper-back muscles contribute to the coordinated push-and-pull movement of the articulating handles.
Core & Stabilizing Muscles
The abdominal and lower-back muscles help stabilize the torso while the upper and lower body move together.
Hip flexors, ankles, and lower-leg muscles also assist with maintaining controlled movement throughout the elliptical stride.
Benefits of the Star Trac 6CT Cross Trainer
Full-Body Cardio Training
The combination of lower-body elliptical movement and articulating upper-body handles provides an efficient way to train multiple major muscle groups during cardiovascular exercise.
Low-Impact Exercise
Because the user's feet remain supported by the pedals, the 6CT provides cardio exercise without the repeated foot strikes associated with treadmill running.
Cardiovascular Endurance Training
The adjustable resistance system makes the Star Trac 6CT suitable for steady-state cardio sessions designed to improve aerobic conditioning and endurance.
Lower-Body Muscular Endurance
Continuous elliptical motion activates the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and calves throughout the workout.
Upper-Body Involvement
The articulating movement arms engage the shoulders, arms, chest, and back, providing more upper-body involvement than many traditional lower-body-only cardio machines.
Adjustable Training Intensity
Twenty resistance levels make it easy to modify workout difficulty for beginner, intermediate, and experienced exercisers.
Interval & HIIT Workouts
Compatible Apex console programming allows the Star Trac 6CT to be used for structured interval and higher-intensity cardio training.
Facility-Friendly Design
With an assembled footprint of approximately 76 inches long by 30 inches wide, the 6CT provides a commercial cardio platform that can be incorporated into a variety of cardio-floor layouts.
